How to use the Dolphin M400 pool cleaner? ›

The Pool Cleaner is very simple to use. Simply put it into the pool and make sure that it is properly sitting on the floor of the pool. Turn it ON and let it get the job done.

Restart the cleaner; press and hold the reset button until the light goes off (approximately 5 – 20 seconds). If light still does not go off, take your Dolphin to your local dealer or call Maytronics Customer Service.

Place the Dolphin in the pool and let it sink to the bottom. In the case of brushes with foam rings, or foam brushes, press the brushes into the water until they are completely soaked. You can now start your Dolphin robot using the ON/OFF button on your power supply.

Although it is safe to leave your Dolphin cleaner in the water when not in use, we do not recommend leaving the Dolphin in the pool for extended periods. Take care to remove the Dolphin when adding chemicals to the pool until the proper chlorine, pH and salinity balances are obtained.

Check that the empeller is clean and does not contain any debris. Make sure that the cable is not twisted or bent and that it is long enough for the Dolphin to cover the entire pool. Check that no debris is trapped in the robot's drives. Try to handle the brushes by hand.

Step 1: Complete a power supply reset:

Pull out the black cable from the outlet and wait 5 seconds. Insert the black cable back into the outlet to ensure that the power supply is not in “delay mode”.

Where is Dolphin settings? ›

The Dolphin Preferences Dialog. The Preferences Dialog is opened via Settings → Configure Dolphin... in the menu in Dolphin's main window. The settings are divided into several groups which can be accessed by clicking the corresponding icon on the left of the dialog.

Generally, you can expect years of service from your quality Dolphin robotic pool cleaner. The more expensive robots are generally higher quality and come with a longer warranty – you do get what you pay for. If you keep your robotic pool cleaner in good condition, it will extend its lifetime.

The reset button is on the control box not the cleaner unit itself.

Maytronics Remote Control Unit

The Remote Control Unit (RCU) offers two operation modes- Automatic mode and Manual direction control mode. In Automatic mode, all cleaning parameters can be changed. In Manual direction mode, the Pool Cleaner direction can be controlled manually.

If you are putting your Dolphin away for the season, for offseason storage, we recommend storing the Dolphin either on the caddy or upside down in a protected area that is between the temperature 41°-113°F / 5°-45°C.

Ideally, if you swim in your pool regularly, you should run your robotic pool cleaner at least once daily. However, if you don't swim in your pool often, run it at least once a week or every two weeks.

If the cleaner is getting stuck or not climbing the walls, make sure that the Rapid Drain Flap is not missing or stuck – these create a seal, allowing the Dolphin to climb (The flap is a black rubber part located behind the rear roller brush and is visible by turning the unit upside down).

Robotic cleaners require more effort from the user. These cleaners absolutely need to be removed from the pool, rinsed off, and stored in a shaded cool area out of the elements - ideally after every use.
