How many words should your bio be?

Creating a good dating profile is no less than an art, which explains Tinder's latest release. The dating app reveals what makes an optimal bio and profile, while displaying it through modern takes of well-known paintings.
Best bio for Tinder
The ideal bio is 15-45 words long, according to research of 1,000 18-24 year olds conducted by insight agency Opinium in July 2023. Nearly half, 45 percent, of those respondents prefer when their potential match is clear about what they're looking for in their bio. Users can use precious bio space to do this, or use the Relationship Goals feature to easily signal what they want.

Be warned, though: 30 percent of Gen Z are turned off by bad spelling and grammar in someone's bio. If you have a long checklist of your "type," that'll give 35 percent of Gen Zers the ick.

In addition to being honest and sharing a bit of your personality, Tinder also recommends keeping your bio fresh and relevant. A couple suggestions are mentioning your new favorite TV show or spot in town for a first date.
Words matter in one's bio, of course, but photos make the profile. Fifty-one percent of young singles think that a photo that features an ex is the biggest turn off, and 39 percent don't like clearly-edited photos.
Tinder recommends using a range of four to five photos to show off who you are and your personality. Over 40 percent of Gen Z singles would be more encouraged to match someone with good style, so don't be afraid to show off your fashion sense.
Crafting a good dating app profile isn't easy, but hopefully these tips will help you create a masterpiece.
